CORWIN ZEKLEY
VIRTUAL/ONLINE TEACHER

Corwin has deep roots in music, having grown up in traditional & world music communities in Northern California. They’ve played violin for over 20 years, have taught for a decade, played over a thousand shows, appeared on dozens of records, and have published their own music. Since graduating from the Berklee College of Music Corwin has toured the U.S and Europe in addition to teaching.
The source of Corwin’s love for music is the ways it can bring us together and connect people of all ages, backgrounds, and languages. As a teacher, Corwin shares this philosophy by nurturing their student’s passion for music through student lead learning and an open, encouraging approach. Corwin uses the student’s interests as the vehicle for teaching technique, relevant skills, and music theory.
Influences:
Corwin’s main musical influence throughout their life has been the people they’ve met and played with in different environments, including traditional music camps, shows, school, bands, jam sessions, and their teachers. Corwin takes inspiration from Tigran Hamasyan, Esperanza Spalding and The Punch Brothers, and has been compared musically to the likes of Andrew Bird, and Stéphane Grappelli.
