JANELL CRAMPTON
AMPED Vocal Coaches Janell Crampton
and Allie Rios
Janell is a singer songwriter who was born and raised in the Antelope Valley. She grew up watching her mom Jana, sing in her cover band "Blind Date" and would attend any possible practice or show to appease the yearning for hopping up on stage herself.
She learned about music in a real way throughout middle school, high school and college while playing Clarinet, Baritone Saxophone, and various percussion. She was able to combine the stage presence she learned from her mother with the musical knowledge she gained in school to become the performer she is today. In her college years she participated in the local community theater scene and eventually became a vocal director for a few of their shows. Janell is a mixed bag sort of entertainer and loves both roles of being onstage performing and offstage teaching everyone behind the scenes.
She started writing her own music over the last 10 years and has played many venues with her band. Some of her favorites include: The World Famous Whisky a Go Go (where she opened for 70s teen heart throb Leif Garrett), The Kaleidescope Music Festival, and McMenamins White Eagle Saloon and Hotel (where she played on her first tour in Portland, OR).
Janell has released her own music and enjoys producing in the studio. She is currently recording her upcoming full length album "Creature of Habit" with Valley Crest Studios in Leona Valley.
She currently teaches voice, stage performance, guitar, songwriting, clarinet, and saxophone.
