MATT LINDSEY
Matt has played drums professionally since the age of 15, and is highly versed in many styles of music.
During his time attending Antelope Valley College, Matt auditioned for a scholarship to the prestigious Los Angeles College of Music, after which he was awarded the Top Performance Scholarship for the Drum Department. Matt graduated LACM in the Fall of 2014, where he graduated at the top of his class with highest honors.
Matt's goal as an educator is to instill in his students those same values and traits of what it means to be a true professional, coupled with the hunger for self-improvement necessary to become an eternal student of the craft.
Over the course of his studies and career, Matt has had the opportunity to study under such great teachers as Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro, Tony Inzalaco, Matt Starr, Sam Mazur, Steve Pemberton, Dave Beyer, Aaron Serfaty, Gary Ferguson, Joey Heredia, Richie Gajate-Garcia, Steve Hass, Michael Iveson, and Ronnie Manaog. Groups and artists with whom Matt has performed include: Leroy Miller (Smash Mouth), Grant Ferguson, Lenny LaCroix (Frank Sinatra), Jon Lacroix (Andy Summers, Ellis Hall), Tokyo Taboo, and the entirety of AVC's Commercial Music faculty. To this day, Matt remains a voracious student of the instrument; remaining under the tutelage and guidance of Ralph Humphrey.
Matt also possesses the strangest technique known to man, for pouring salt.
